Event description
Join studio artist Sally Plowman for an exciting two day drum-making and drumming workshop on site at Wysing.

About this Event

In this fun, practical weekend course delivered over two days, artist Sally Plowman will guide you through making your own drum kit and learning to play it!

On day one, everyone will create their own DIY drum kit using every day materials, with bass drum, pedal, snare drum and cymbal elements.

On the second day, Sally will lead you through some simple drumming rhythms and coordination exercises to practise on your new drum kits. With a focus on playing as a group, you will be introduced to combining drumming with listening and responding to find your natural rhythm.

This course is open to everyone, with no experience necessary.

All materials will be provided and you can take your drum kit home with you at the end.

Safety notes: The two workshops will be held in Amphis, which is an outdoor structure and well ventilated, with a maximum of 6 participants. Social distancing will still be in place. Please do not attend if you have symptoms of coronavirus or think you have been in contact with someone with coronavirus. If you cancel for this reason, your booking fee will be refunded.

Materials: All materials are provided.

Format: Weekend workshop in Wysing’s Amphis 10.00-4.00pm each day.

Dates: Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th June 2021.

Fees: £160 per student.
