Drumming and Wellbeing Laughter Experience

Join us for a vibrant rhythm jam, where hand drums and percussion come together in an explosion of energy and fun. No experience needed—we’ll guide and encourage you to unlock your inner musician. In this relaxed and uplifting session, you’ll feel the joy of creative collaboration and the buzz of shared rhythm.

One thing’s for sure: you’ll leave with more smiles and energy than you arrived with!

All instruments are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own.

Who is it for?

Virtually anyone! We welcome all ages - family friendly - anyone who can participate in cardiovascular exercise. All exercises are accessible for those who can't stand.

What will I be doing?

Drumming - relaxed and uplifting session creating a vibrant rhythm jam, where hand drums and percussion come together in an explosion of energy and fun.

Wellbeing Laughter - Gentle warmups, laughter words, followed by fun laughter exercises, plus Bollywood Laughter Dance to feel the natural high of endorphins.

Thursdays have never been such fun as at Drum Up Happiness!

About the facilitators:

Elk Burland - Elk Burland is the founder of Drum Happy CIC and Synergy Beat, dedicated to sharing the power of group drumming and collaborative music with as many people as possible. Based in Ramsbottom, Greater Manchester, he brings rhythm and connection to a wide range of settings, including corporate businesses, events and conferences, mental health and rehab facilities, and the prison service.

With over 35 years immersed in music-making and therapeutic practice, Elk combines creativity with care. He holds a First-Class Honours degree in Music Production, a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and has completed extensive training in Village Music Circle drum circle facilitation, alongside a variety of complementary courses.

Sunny Turner - Laughter Ambassador and Happiness Facilitator (https://seriouslaughter.co.uk) has been delivering Laughter Yoga sessions since 2016 to many communities and organisations.

All participants still remember the joy they felt during the session/s they attended!

A competent speaker, Sunny has appeared on the stages of numerous conferences and festivals, including Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place Festival in Tatton Park, the Social Prescribing Conference, Womanifest, and Wellnergy.
