Come and play drums with a friendly, welcoming group at the wonderful Green Note in Camden - London's celebrated live music venue for roots and world music.

If you have your own hand drum, feel free to bring it along – the more, the merrier! If not, no worries – you can use any of ours.

This workshop is open to all levels, including complete beginners. We’ll explore rhythms from around the world in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

Do I need any drumming experience to join?

Not at all! This workshop is open to everyone, whether you’re a complete beginner or have been playing for years. The session is designed to be fun, engaging, and accessible for all levels.

Do I need to bring a drum?

No, we provide a variety of drums and percussion instruments for you to use. However, if you have your own hand drum, feel free to bring it along – the more, the merrier!

What kind of music will we be playing?

These sessions explore rhythms from different cultures around the world, using a mix of hand drums and percussion instruments. The focus is on group drumming, creativity, and having fun with rhythm.

Is the workshop suitable for children?

Yes, it's open to all. Children aged 10+ are welcome if accompanied by a participating adult. Please contact us.

What should I wear?

There’s no dress code – just wear something comfortable that allows you to sit and play with ease.

Will there be a break?

Yes, there will be a short break to relax and chat with fellow drummers and to order refreshments from the cafe-bar.

I’ve never played drums before – will I be able to keep up?

Absolutely! The workshop is designed to be inclusive, with simple rhythms to start and more complex patterns introduced as we go. You'll be carried along by the music and guided step-by-step by the group leaders and other drummers in the group. It's a great introduction to the world of drumming.

What if I'm a player with previous experience?

If you’re a more experienced player, feel free to let us know in advance if there’s something you’d like to focus on (style, technique, improv, etc), so we can tailor the session to include any special requests.
