Dry Stone Walling Course
Overview
Dry Stone Walling
Have you ever wanted to learn the ancient art of Dry Stone Walling? Join us in Dartmouth for a hands-on course!
A dry stone, double skinned wall is a construction method where two parrallel walls are built with a gap in between, filled with smalled stones. This acts as a stabiliser, giving the wall structure and strength. The walls support each other, distributing pressure and reducing the likelyhood of collapse. The construction process involves carefully selecting and placing stones so that they interlock naturally, providing stability without the use of mortar.
Our experienced instructors will guide you through the process of building these walls. It's a great way to connect with nature and learn a valuable skill that has been passed down through generations.
No prior experience is necessary, just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Don't miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in a traditional craft. See you there!
