Back in 2004 Dubateers took the underground dub and reggae scene by storm with a plan to revitalise the scene in Southend. First setting siege on and making a stand in The Royal Hotel, later appropriately named The Dub Bunker by Nick. A reputation for thunderous building shaking bass, crystal sound and unrivalled good vibes created some of the most memorable reggae nights the town had ever seen. These events were played and hosted by Dubateers over a decade period. Nick booked many world famous & local sound systems many many times, in order to keep supporting the international and local scene. Huge thanks to Richard and Steve and then later Jolene and John, all the guests and supporters for working and helping us so supportively.

Nick originally teamed up with Jah Waggy and was later joined by Glen, after he recognised a similar interest in what we were doing and shared the same desire to run a sound system and pursue our love of reggae and dub music. Despite fierce competition to derail and scupper the undoubted growing success of Dubateers as a sound, promotional organisation and record label Nick still carries the flame over 10 years later!

In 2009, Nick helped Jah Waggy set up his now very successful record shop, linking him with the distributor he needed to supply the planet with our beloved vinyl and build his own business doing what he loves as a living. Unfortunately Jah Waggy moved on and in 2012 Glen lost his love for the music and this left Nick to hold the flag on his own, with a less publicised crew and decided to focus on his music production touring the european dub scene with his positive message and style. During this period Nick has built a new studio to ensure the integrity of his productions and ideas, set for a prolific release period in the future.

2017 See’s a return of The Dubateers sound system mission. This time its in the shape of a completely new sound system that has been solely designed and hand built by Nick, using his experience of playing at home and around europe on a vast array of different sound systems, coupled with his fathers mentoring with carpentry skills, Nick has combined these experiences to build what he see's as the most collectively adaptable, sweet and heavy sounding system he could design and build by hand.

We really hope you like how we have progressed and look forward to providing you with some great nights again and hope you will share the journey again with us.
