About this Event

Join us for the music of one of the most innovative Jazz composers and pianists of the 20th century – Duke Ellington. With a career spanning more than 50 years, Ellington’s music remains some of best known and loved in Jazz history. Celebrating this great artist and the music of the swing era, we are bringing father and son duo, Neal and Tim Thornton, to Chalfont St Giles on 14 November.

Pianist, writer and band leader, Neal, has played at almost all the leading jazz clubs with the leaders in the field, also performing with artists including mezzo-soprano Sally Burgess, Willard White, Guy Barker and Paul McCartney. Double-bassist Tim, won the 2013 Rising Star Jazz Award and now has his own Quartet, is a regular host of the Late Show at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and performs at festivals and venues around the world. Tim is also the co-founder of Karve, a pop-up restaurant/jazz club fusing and fine dining at events across London.
