Event description

Description

Come along to the free Dundee Hope Festival on Saturday 19th October! There will be live music and performances, face painting, dance performances, naloxone training, #BehindTheNumbers film screenings, art activities and much more!

Everyone is welcome to come along and join in the fun!

Please register to let us know you are coming along, but you can come along on the day without a ticket.

Dundee Hope Festival will bring together the whole community to celebrate a message of hope and challenge the stigma faced by people with an experience of drug and alcohol use.

109 people across Tayside lost their lives to a drug-related death in 2018. This reflects a 15.9% increase in drug-related deaths in Tayside from the previous year. It is an important time for the community to come together in the spirit of hope to help create connected communities that include everyone. There is hope for change in Dundee and a connected, supported and supportive community is part of the story.

The Dundee Hope Festival is centered on the values of hope, inclusivity, and fun. It will offer entertainment including live music and performances, child-friendly activities, harm reduction education and an opportunity for attendees to link in with local services and hear stories of hope from people with a lived experience.

The contribution of communities, families, and friends to supporting their loved one will be acknowledged, including the important role that families and friends play in holding onto hope for those who are struggling with alcohol and other drugs or who are in recovery.
