The DISHED project (co-Designing innovative Infrastructure for Sustainable, Healthy and Equitable Diets) is testing a simple idea:
Can public restaurants promote healthier, more sustainable food systems while supporting local economies?
Public restaurants, much like libraries or public transport, could offer universal access to nutritious, affordable meals in social settings—co-designed with local residents to reflect their tastes and needs. This approach has the potential to improve public health, strengthen communities, and support ethical, sustainable food production.
At this stakeholder event, we will:
- Share DISHED’s overall plans and progress so far
- Present findings from our co-design sessions with communities
- Explore alignment with your organisational strategies and agendas
- Discuss how DISHED can support your work and local priorities
- Get input on challenges and opportunities
This is an opportunity to shape the next steps together and ensure the project delivers benefits across health, sustainability, and economic development.
