About this event

  • 4 hours

Wadhurst Park Dung Beetle Safari

Join us at the Wadhurst Park for a half day exploring the fascinating world of dung beetles. Get up close and personal with these incredible creatures as vet and dung beetle expert Claire Whittle guides you through their role in the ecosystem.

Claire will guide us on encouraging dung beetles onto our farms and why they are so important as part of a farm ecosystem.

Areas covered will include how dung beetles:

  • Improve the quality and availability of pasture
  • Keep nuisance fly populations under control
  • Reduce the use of wormers
  • Improve soil quality and structure

Members of the Wadhurst Park ecology and land team will be on site to answer questions about our land management after the event.
