Dungaree Making Workshop

Have you always fancied a pair of Lucy & Yak inspired dungarees made to your own size in the fabric of your choice - well now you can!

Get ready to unleash your creativity and learn the art of making stylish dungarees from scratch!

This in-person workshop will take place on Saturday 20th of september 9.30am. I can't wait to welcome you to my venue located at Manor Road, Horbury, WF4 6HH.

During this hands-on workshop, I will guide you through the entire process of creating your own unique dungarees, helping you to master new sewing techniques, gain valuable skills and leave with a fabulous pair of dungarees to show off!

Suitable for confident beginners and experienced sewers alike. (You must be able to thread a sewing machine & sew in a straight line & made a few things before). We will be using the Heyday dungarees pattern from Waves & Wild & if you don't already own the pattern, here's the link to the designer, to purchase it, alternatively I can purchase & print the pattern for you for an additional fee of £12.

The Heydays are a loose fitting dungaree pattern, which can be worn turned up at the ankle, there's no zips or buttons, so that you can concentrate on enjoying the sewing process while learning some new skills, such as topstitching, pattern matching your pockets & buttonholes, should you choose that option. Available in 12 sizes for adults or you can make some for the kiddos too.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

The class includes expert instruction, use of the machines, tools etc plus tea, coffee & and biscuits! There will be a break for lunch which can be bought nearby or bring along with you.

YOU NEED TO BRING

* The HeyDay dungaree pattern, printed & traced to your size. If you don't have the pattern, you can buy an add on at check-out for £12 extra. (If you need a hand determining your size, please contact me & I'll happily advise you)

* 1.5 to 3.5 metres of stable woven fabric, such as cotton twill, drill or poplin, denim, chambray, linen or corduroy.(Please check size chart below for info for how much fabric to bring and fabric recommendations. If you aren’t sure, please contact me) I recommend that you wash this prior to the class

* Matching thread

* If you would prefer to bring your own machine, just let me know & ensure that you have the power cable, pedal & all the bits & pieces that came with it.

* Glasses if you need them - don't forget them!

SKILL LEVEL

Beginner/Intermediate

Suitable for adults who have never made a garment before but are confident using a sewing machine. As well as those who may have previous experience and wish to use the class to gain confidence or new inspiration.

*Please note - the studio is accessed via stairs & the toilets are downstairs. There is ample free off street parking outside the studio.

I try to calculate how long a workshop will be and plan to finish each garment in the allocated time but this isn’t always possible, If you are unable to finish in the workshop time I will make sure you are confident with your garment to be finished at home.

Refund Policy

Payment in full is required at the time of booking to secure your place. If you find that you can't attend 7 days or more before the start of your class you will recieve a full refund, less the EventBrite administration fees. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations with less than 1 weeks notice.
