Is this event suitable for new players to Dungeons & Dragons?

Absolutely!! We welcome all new players to our tables and ensure they will learn the very basics of the adventure, whilst enjoying amazing storytelling. Our adventures will include 'level 3' pre-made characters to choose from - so you can enjoy multiple abilities.

Does this event have catering?

Accepted Answer

Drinks are available to purchase from the bar downstairs. However, due to the venue's kitchens being unavailable, guests are encouraged to bring their own snacks. The venue has allowed guests to order from the local takeaway and bring their food to our event.

Question 3

Is there parking?

Accepted Answer

Paid parking is available near to the venue. We recommend the Abergavenny Castle car park, just a couple of streets away - literally 5 minutes away.

Question 4

Can we book for a group?

Accepted Answer

Yes you can. We allow groups of up to 7 players per table. Each table will have a separate adventure with their own experienced Dungeon Master. We aim to fill tables before adding extra, so that we can book our Dungeon Masters in advance.

Question 5

Will there be other players on the table?

Accepted Answer

Yes indeed!! If your booking consists of less than 7 players, we will allow you to enjoy the adventure with other players to enhance the experience. Dungeons & Dragons is a great way to socialise and enjoy gaming together.

Question 6

Do I need to bring anything?

Accepted Answer

We will provide pre-made level 3 character sheets, miniatures and dice for players to use. If you wish to bring your own character, you are also welcome.

Is this event suitable for children?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, due to the venue and time, we are only able to cater to ages 18+ as it is a tavern

Will there be another event like this one with Alder and Fable?

Absolutely! We at Alder and Fable are spreading far and wide across the UK. We would love to see you again at one of our events.

Question 9

Can we get tickets on the door?

Accepted Answer

We would prefer all guests to purchase tickets from Eventbrite in advance - this is so that we can secure how many Dungeon Masters we need for the event to work.  Door Arrivals are charged £20 per ticket, so it's better to order in advance. **Ticket sales end on the 17th of April at midnight**
