Dunoon Grammar - Business & Computing Department - Curricular Planning Day
Wed 3 May 2017, 08:30 – 11:45 BST
DUNOON GRAMMAR SCHOOL NEEDS YOU!
The Business & Computing Department at Dunoon Grammar needs your help to shape future course provision to the young people of Cowal.
Education Scotland has recently published new guidance on Business Education and Computing Science that will affect the service offered by the department to S1-3 pupils. This is the first time in a decade this guidance has been ‘refreshed’.
The Business & Computing Department will host a planning day where the new guidance will be explored and used to help shape future course provision in the Business & Computing Department.
The event – organised and hosted by S3 Administration & IT pupils from the school – will be held in the school from 8.30 am until 11.45 am and will involve a number of workshops resulting in suggested learning experiences the department will take forward and develop and deliver to the junior school.
The department hopes delegates to the event will represent a cross section of the local community including pupils, parents, former pupils, local business, computer scientists and other stakeholders within our Community.
David Mitchell, Head Teacher of Dunoon Grammar School commented:
“Our Business & Computing Department aims to deliver rich learning experiences within real and relevant contexts for our young people. The work of the department has been used as best practice across Scotland and has been used to showcase Scottish education to other nations – from Canada to Singapore. I would urge your attendance to this important planning event to help ensure the pupils in the department continue to acquire skills relevant for learning, life and work”.
