Durham Cathedral - Night Photography Workshop
Fri 28 October 2016, 19:00 – 22:00 BST
Join us for a rare opportunity to photograph the inside of one of Britain's most beautiful buildings. The sun is due to set shortly before the workshop starts, so you'll be able to work in a variety of light levels, right through to darkness (apart from any light coming through the windows and fire exit signage).
I've spent a lot of time shooting in the Cathedral at night. To create the best possible experience, you'll be working in small groups, in different locations, to make sure there are no stray torches, tripods or bodies in the frame (or as few as possible, anyway).
There will be 28 photographers, plus tutors/helpers. Once the tickets have gone, that's it. I can't create any more places, because part of the benefit of such a small group is the ability to make sure people aren't wandering into your shots all the time :)
I'll have two or more experienced photographers (people whose work you'll probably know from Facebook and Flickr) helping out, and I'll be providing tuition and one-to-one support.
Most of the cost of this workshop will go towards booking the Cathedral and processing the tickets, so I'd appreciate it if you could book and pay as early as possible. For similar reasons, your booking is non-refundable if you're unable to come (but it may possible to transfer it to someone else, upon request).
Finally, the Cathedral will require you to sign a slip of paper on the night, to confirm that you will only use the photographs for non-commercial use.
This is going to be one fantastic event. I hope to see you there.
