About this event

A “Sense of Place” is what gives an area its identity and makes it different from elsewhere. We can use it to explain what makes an area special, to produce materials that help businesses and organisations explain their area to others. This can be used practically for writing business plans, funding bids, improving marketing and branding materials. But it also helps everyone to understand what they want for their area and community.

The new Walker's Guide to Durness is an example of Sense of Place in action. The book brings together the best loved walks of the area to showcase where and how to get the best from exploring the routes. We are delighted that the book's author, Dougie Cunningham, is able to come along to help us launch the book at this event.

Activities will be creative and led by the Geopark Team.

Complimentary refreshments and cakes will be provided during the event .

Places are free but limited. All ages very welcome.

Please indicate any dietary requirements in the booking process.

This project is part of the Access, Connect and Take Part Programme of events, funded by the North and West Sutherland Trust (Durness CC) and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
