A circular walk following the River Cam down to The Gloucester and Sharpness Canal and then along the canal and back through the village of Slimbridge to Cam
The walk will take in the the site of the Roman Villa in Cam as well as the only remaining accessible bridge of the former Dursley Railway Line. There will be the option of visiting the historic Halmore Mill before enjoying a walk along the canal to Shepherds Patch. Finally the walk will visit the historic church in the village of Slimbridge
Start time will be 10.00. The walk is generally flat however there are 18 stiles and bridges to cross as well as an uncontrolled crossing of the Gloucester to Bristol railway line. On the return we will also have to cross the busy A38. There will be a coffee stop at around 11.00 and lunch at Shepherds Patch where The Black Shed Cafe is located and drinks and food can be purchased if required or alternatively bring a packed lunch.
