The walk will leave Dursley by following the river Cam through the redeveloped Lister housing area to Cam Church and then on to cross the fields to Coaley. There will be a short break at the village shop in Coaley where coffee and cake is available to purchase if required. The return route features a small waterfall and several lakes as it skirts around Cam Long Down and ascends to Cam Peak (going to the top of the peak is optional). The walk returns towards Dursley centre along Drake Lane to pick up the Cotswold Way for the return to the Market Hall. There are a number of stiles to negotiate along the route.

Free parking is available in Dursley for up to 24 hours at the Council run May Lane and Long Street car parks. However, these two car parks are often full during weekdays. There is parking at Sainsburys, in Castle Street, for a maximum of 2 hours, enforced with ANPR cameras. This can be extended for £2.45 using the Just Park website or on your phone when you visit - this allows you to park all day (to be confirmed when you book). Parking may also be possible on side streets close to the town centre but you will need to allow plenty of time to search for these spaces.
