Welcome to the Dursley Walking Festival Event 24 - Heading Out of Town! Join us at Dursley Market Place GL11 4BS on October 5, 2025 at 10:30 AM (Europe/London) for a day of adventure and exploration.
This is a pretty walk which passes through our woods catching glimpses of Dursley through the trees. We go to Breakheart Quarry with views across to Tyndale Monument. Then to the Sculpture Trail where we will stop for an early lunch. From there we continue through the woods to Elcombe and return through open fields along the River Ewelme.
Please bring a packed lunch.This is an undulating walk with fairly steep ascents and descents and several stiles. We will finish the walk at the Methodist Church Hall for end of festival tea and cakes.

Free parking is available in Dursley for up to 24 hours at the Council run May Lane and Long Street car parks. The May Lane car park is the most convenient to catch the bus for the linear walks. However, these two car parks are often full during weekdays. There is parking at Sainsburys, in Castle Street, for a maximum of 2 hours, enforced with ANPR cameras. This can be extended for £2.45 using the Just Park website or on your phone when you visit - this allows you to park all day (to be confirmed when you book). Parking may also be possible on side streets close to the town centre but you will need to allow plenty of time to search for these spaces.
