Description

*** IMPORTANT: PLEASE ONLY BOOK TICKETS IF YOU'VE READ THIS ALL THE WAY TO THE END! ***

Danielle Ward, Chris Coltrane and Stuart Laws would very much like your company on Sunday Sept 4th, for an afternoon-long DVD recording of our newest stand-up shows.

We're putting on a lovely mini comedy festival at The Phoenix, in Oxford Circus, from half-past-midday to 6pm, especially for you. And more specifically, for us. We're going to film the new comedy shows we've written for this year's Edinburgh Fringe, and we'd really REALLY love a friendly audience, to give us the best recording possible. If you give us your time, we'll give you shows by some of the damn-finest alternative comedians out there, plus Stuart Laws.

We only ask three things of you:

-- Please be there by 12.50 at the very latest. The first show starts recording at 1pm, and we want to make sure everyone is seated and bought their drinks.

-- Please stay for all three shows. Setting up this recording is extremely expensive for us, and we'd be quite upset if you only came for one show without supporting the other two!

-- With the expense in mind, tickets are totally free, and we'll do a collection at the end, to try to help us cover the costs of the recording. You don't have to pay, and it's completely fine if you're skint. Come for free! But if everyone were to chuck a tenner in at the end, we'd pretty much break even on it. Pay less if you can't afford it. Pay more if you want to help us to break even AND buy some food. It's up to you!

We'll decide the running order on the day. Here's the three shows you'll see, in alphabetical order:

CHRIS COLTRANE: Socialist Fun-Times: "An hour of Tory-smashing political comedy, where he champions refugees, defends political correctness, and delivers such high-quality jokes about Donald Trump that it's surely only a matter of time before Trump is forced to resign."

DANIELLE WARD: Seventeen. "The host of the Do The Right Thing podcast brings her brand new stand-up show to The Phoenix. Ten lessons for 17 years old (or indeed anyone having difficulty growing up) on how to navigate the troubled waters of 2016. But with jokes! And songs! And some stuff I found on Craigslist."

STUART LAWS: So Preoccupied With Whether Or Not He Could That He Didn’t Stop To Think Whether He Should. (1 hr show). "Expect tales from the summer of 2001, breweries, paper-rounds and puffins as Stuart casts his eye over the often-overlooked with acute observations that have seen him recognised as an original, well-crafted standout on the comedy circuit."

Sound fun? Book tickets! Feel free to book tickets for friends, too! We'd love you to bring as many friendly people along as you can. But please only book tickets if you're definitely coming. If you book tickets and then don't come, there'll be empty seats for someone who could have come instead.

Thank you very much!
