Make a colourful shibori scarf using Itajime Shibori techniques.

In this class you will learn the art of Kikko folding a silk scarf to create a parcel for dyeing. You will then use a selection of colourful silk dyes to inject into the scarf to create kaleidoscopic patterns and then steam your scarf to fix the colours.

You will learn colour blending and how to inject silk dyes into your work to make kaleidoscope patterns.

Your tutor will talk to you about Itajime and show you examples of his own work and talk about his trips to Japan in search of vintage silks.

The class will last 2.5 hours, including half an hour for dyeing your scarf.

A 180cm long silk scarf is included in the price.
