"Creating Visual Narratives of Dying Matters Through Photography and Moving Images"
featured guests include Charlie Phillips ("How Great Thou Art") and Crispin Hughes.
How do we create visual narratives about dying matters through use of the camera?
A chance to view powerful, poignant funeral photographs and footage from acclaimed professional photographers whose work has been exhibited in art galleries, reproduced in magazines and newspapers as well as displayed in family homes and personal albums.
Focussing on the documentation of funerals through photographic and video practices, join us for a discussion around the role of photography and moving images in contemporary British funerals.
How Great Thou Art represents a lifetime’s work by Charlie, and the offers attendees of this event, a rare opportunity to engage with, learn from, and celebrate the rapidly changing mourning traditions and practices of London’s African Caribbean community.
