About this event
Welcome to the Dying to Help Monthly Death Book Club! Join us online as we dive into thought-provoking books that explore the topic of death. We have a mixture of fiction and non-fiction books spread throughout the year.
This month we're reading Let's Talk About Death Over Dinner by Michael Hebb
Our club is a safe space to discuss, reflect, and learn about this inevitable part of life. Whether you're a bookworm or just curious about the subject, all are welcome to participate. Each month, we'll select a new book to read and come together for a virtual discussion. Let's embrace our curiosity and explore the mysteries of life and death together!
Frequently asked questions
You will get the most out of the session if you've finished the book, but we know that life sometimes gets in the way. Please still come along!
We believe that the Death Book club works best when everyone joins in. We love to hear from different perspectives, and yours is just as valuable as anyone else's. BUT, we get it can be scary speaking in a group for the first time, so come as you are and join in as you can.
We're not all going to love every book and that's okay. If you didn't like this month's book, then share why in the group!
YES! However you choose to consume the book is fine by us.
Sure! I have tried to be pretty organised and have a list of books that will get us through 2025, but if you have a book that you think fits the bill, please let me know. If I can fit it in, I will!
You are welcome to join us from wherever you are in the world. If you need to join from bed in your PJs we won't judge!
We love to see your face and believe the book club works best with cameras on, but we get that sometimes this isn't practical. If you need to leave your camera off, just let us know in the chat.
The club is run by Emma from Dying to Help CIC. Dying to Help exists to make the uncomfortable, comfortable by helping people to talk about death and dying. The book club is run in association with MyGoodbyes who educate, encourage and enable people to plan well for end of life.
