Dylan Thomas Centenary Celebration
Hannah Ellis and Guy Masterson
Following events held in New York, Buenos Aires, Sydney, Melbourne and Cardiff, British Council Wales' Starless and Bible Black project and the British Council Seminar Series are proud to bring you this special centenary celebration to be held in London and streamed live online, especially for English language teaching professionals.
We are delighted to announce Hannah Ellis, granddaughter of Dylan Thomas, as our special guest speaker, who will give an new and exclusive talk following a journey through her grandfather's life. Hannah will be joined by actor, Guy Masterson, Olivier Award winner and recipient of many Edinburgh Fringe Festival accolades. Together, they will provide a guide to Dylan Thomas, suitable for those uninitiated to enthusiasts, illuminated by performance of his letters, prose, poetry, plays and use of language. We will also launch the British Council’s Dylan Thomas teaching materials for the English language classroom.
As next week marks the centenary of Dylan Thomas' birth, and celebrations are taking place the length and breadth of the UK, this is an event not to be missed! Join us in the Vaults of the RSA for a reception following the event. It is free to attend the event in London, but place are now very limited. Book soon to avoid disappointment.
The British Council Seminar Series takes place across the UK, including once a month in London. The seminars are intended to provoke debate and discussion on current issues in English Language teaching and can contribute to the continuing professional development of English Language teachers based in, or visiting, the United Kingdom.
Every seminar is free of charge and includes the opportunity to network with fellow ELT practitioners.
