Dynamic Life Drawing with Laura Hudson
Overview
This will be the last of our scheduled Life Drawing sessions for
2025.
This class will be taught by Laura Hudson, an experienced artist, curator and art consultant.
This session will be perfect for those seeking to experiment with drawing techniques, develop observational drawing skills, or simply enjoy a fun and engaging experience.
Laura Hudson studied Environmental Art at the Glasgow School of Art, followed by Artist Moving Image under Tina Keane at Central Saint Martins. Laura worked for many years as a curator, director and project manager in the arts before returning to her own practice. In 2019, Hudson was awarded an MA with distinction in Fine Art from City & Guilds of London Art School.
Laura is an established artist who has exhibited widely in the UK and abroad. She was artist-in-residence at the Windsor & Newton Laboratory in London, the Alan Davie Gallery in Hertford and has worked on numerous collaborative projects at venues such as the V&A and Barbican in London. Hudson’s practice spans lens-based work, drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, horticulture and speculative fiction. She moved to Jersey in 2022, where her studio practice is focused on drawing and painting, for which she has won numerous awards, including the Trinity Buoy Wharf prize for drawing.
These drawing sessions have been designed to make use of our spectacular light-filled space over three levels. With life models visible from multiple vantage points, this is a dynamic life-drawing session. Participants can rotate from easel to portable boards, across three floors: moving between poses and models to find interesting views from above and below.
If you are interested in pushing your life drawing skills, this will be a perfect session with plenty of scope to draw the body from unusual aerial vantage points.
Suitable for anyone over 16 years of age, from beginners to experienced artists.
CCA Galleries will provide boards, paper, and basic materials; however, if you have preferred materials or paper, please bring them with you (dry materials only). There will be tea, coffee and biscuits on hand to keep you going.
Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to expand your artistic horizons.
