DYSERTH - Sound and Movement Therapy. A 2 week course
Overview
✨ Sound & Movement Therapy: A Two-Week In-Person Journey ✨
Dyserth Community Hall, Cwm Road, Dyserth
Step out of your head. Drop into your body. Reset your nervous system.
Join Angela for a powerful two-session Sound & Movement Therapy course, held one week apart, designed to help you release tension, reconnect with yourself, and access deep states of relaxation, insight, and renewal.
This is a gentle yet profound modality that can support chronic pain, stress, anxiety, emotional blocks, trauma release, fatigue, creativity, and overall wellbeing — and it’s suitable whether you’re brand new or experienced in somatic or sound-based practices.
Angela previously led a community project using this modality with people living with chronic pain, achieving significant positive outcomes. The results of this work are published on the British Academy of Sound Therapy website, highlighting the real-world impact of this approach.
This experience goes beyond a traditional sound bath. By combining sound with gentle movement, the body becomes an active participant rather than just receiving sound. Movement helps open areas of tension and holding, allowing the sound to reach deeper layers of the body. This supports a more profound release, working with how the body is organised and how stress or pain is held, rather than just creating surface relaxation.
🌀 Course Dates & Structure
Week 1 – Sunday 22nd February 2026
🕒 1.30pm – 3.30pm
Sound & Movement Therapy (without reflection)
An immersive, embodied session focused purely on experience, release, and nervous system regulation.
Week 2 – Sunday 1st March 2026
🕒 1.30pm – 3.30pm
Sound & Movement Therapy (with reflection)
Building on week one, this session adds space for integration, insight, and gentle reflection.
🌿 What to Expect
You’ll begin lying comfortably on a yoga mat with a short guided visualisation to help you arrive and tune in.
From there, the journey unfolds:
- Drum & intuitive movement — no choreography, no pressure. Movement arises naturally, supporting emotional and physical release in a way similar to ancient trance dance practices.
- Gong therapy — shifting into a new “sonic room” that works deeply on the nervous system, mind, and emotions. Techniques used may help reduce stress hormones and support feelings of calm, safety, and connection.
- Crystal bowls — soft, enveloping tones that encourage deep relaxation, insight, and a melting away of tension.
- Final guided visualisation — grounding, integrating, and gently closing the session.
Many people report feeling lighter, clearer, calmer, and more connected — both to themselves and to what matters most.
✨ No experience needed. Come exactly as you are.
✨ Spaces are limited to keep the group held and supported.
