Event description
A new course aimed at raising awareness of the impact of dyslexia on learning in your classroom or school.

About this Event

We know that many schools are looking at how they can be more dyslexia aware. Ensuring that staff have training in the strategies and resources needed in meeting the needs of pupils with dyslexia remains a priority.

Dyslexia awareness training is a half day course for

• Teachers

• Teaching assistants

• SENCos

• Senior management

This course will be invaluable in ensuring your staff have an overall understanding and awareness of what dyslexia is and the different ways it impacts on the learner, providing an introduction to dyslexia and looking at ways to support it.

It will enable all members of staff to gain an enhanced understanding of pupils both at risk of, and with, dyslexia.

We will look at:

• Myth busting around dyslexia

• What dyslexia is and how it impacts on the learner

• Effective practice

• Inclusive classrooms and quality first teaching

• Principles for classroom interventions

• Understanding the wider individual profile

• Working closely with parents
