The Hackney School of Food is a thriving food education hub and not-for-profit social enterprise in the heart of Hackney. Through its productive gardens and teaching kitchen, its mission is to improve the health of children, families and the local community by equipping them with the knowledge and skills to cook and grow nutritious food from scratch. The school teaches a ‘seed to spoon’ approach to food production and preparation, which involves exploring the garden and its produce, as well as kitchen- based learning. Classes welcome people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds and are led by specialist chefs with years of experience in the field.
