e-Immediate Life Support (eILS) PM

ILS was developed by Resuscitation Council UK for healthcare professionals who may have to act as the first responder in an emergency, giving them the skills to manage patients in cardiac arrest before a cardiac arrest team arrives.
APPLICANTS PLEASE NOTE: The e-ILS course combines half a day of e-learning with half a day of face-to-face learning. The e-learning should be completed before the face-to-face day as preparation for the course.

Certificate: Sucessfull candidates receive a RCUK ILS provider certificate valid for one year.
Pre-course preparation:
Before the course, you will be registered on RCUK Learning Management System (LMS). There, you can access pre-course course modules that will prepare you for your face-to-face session, and you you will be asked to complete a pre-course multiple choice question (MCQ) paper.
You will receive your course manual at least two weeks before the course. Candidates are expected to read the manual in preparation for the course.
During the course, you will develop the skills to:
- identify the causes and promote the prevention of cardiopulmonary arrest;
- recognise and treat the deteriorating patient using the ABCDE approach;
- undertake the skills of quality CPR and defibrillation (manual and /or AED) and simple airway manoeuvres;
- utilise non-technical skills to facilitate team leadership and effective team membership.
