Eligibility and Audience

This is a E-Learning Course run by Me Learning

This course is ideal for you if you work in education, health and social care or simply just want to gain a greater understanding of eating disorders and their causes and effects.

It’s a great introduction for parents and other family members and a highly effective introductory eating disorder training for therapists or new starters seeking online eating disorder certificate programmes.

Figures from the NHS suggest that more than 725,000 people in the UK are affected by an eating disorder and that around one in 250 women and one in 2,000 men will experience anorexia nervosa at some point in their lives.

The effects of an eating disorder can be long-lasting and have an impact on both the individual and their families and friends. This course will help you learn more about anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorders and explains what carers and families can do to provide support to sufferers.

Course Overview

This three-module eating disorder training for professionals course gives an insightful overview of the subject. It describes the physical and psychological symptoms of anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorders and the possible causes.

It also touches on eating disorders in children and what causes them, how carers and families can help when they suspect someone may have an eating disorder and what treatments are currently available.

You will automatically get a certificate on course completion which includes your name, CPD hours earned, date and learning objectives covered.

Once you’ve completed this course, you’ll have an in-depth knowledge of:
