About this event
Summary
Covid-19 has changed the world. It has enabled the digital revolution to accelerate far quicker than anyone could imagine. Whilst many of these developments in technology are welcomed by many of us and have become an integral part of everyday life their implementation in everyday life hasn't yet been fully considered. We have not yet considered what impact these new technologies are having on young people and whether the e-safety information we give out in schools is sufficent, relevant or engaging enough to keep them safe in this modern and ever changing interconnected world.
This course will therefore explore the changing world of e-safety and highlight why it might now be time to refresh the messages you and your school deliver to learners in regards to key e-safety topics. The workshop will examine what messages should be given to learners and parents / carers whilst at the same time consider the appropraite steps schools should take in the event of an e-safety, hoax or online challenge incident taking place.
Delegates during this event will be encouraged to discuss key topics with each other and share and exchange best practice where appropriate.
Target Audience
This course is primarily aimed at educators who are either the e-safety lead in their school or have an interest in e-safety provision.
Format
This course will be delivered online via the Google Meet platform. No recording of the event will be made, however all slides from the event will be provided to delegates electronically once the course has taken place.
