This is an open free network meeting for Women in Business hosted by NatWest's Business Growth Enabler Stewart Smith & supported by RDP Newmans to celebrate International Women's day 2020. #IWD2020

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

International Women's Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. Prior to this the Socialist Party of America, United Kingdom's Suffragists and Suffragettes, and further groups campaigned for women's equality.

Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.

We are holding our event on Thursday 5th March 2020 as this year International Womens Day is on a Sunday.

In 2019,the theme was Better the balance, better the world. Celebrating women's achievements while calling for gender balance.

In 2020

An equal world is an enabled world.

Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day.

We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women's achievements.

Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world.

Let's all be #EachforEqual.

Our guest speaker is Lillian Ogbogoh who is an International Speaker, Corporate Trainer and Podcast host.

Lillian's main presentation will be - A Seat at the Table “ Creating an equal platform for women to step into leadership.”

Do you ever feel that other’s seem to have their foot on the leadership ladder, and you feel that you are spinning your heels and unclear what to do to step into your leadership self?

You find yourself playing small and unwilling to put yourself forward for highly- visible projects and are afraid of applying for that role, reaching out for new clients fearful that you would fail, so you play small. Yet deep down, you know that you are ready for more, you are prepared for a seat at the table, but you are unsure what to do next. You feel that senior managers take notice of those colleagues that seem to be more confident while you feel invisible and you go unnoticed.

Are you ready to stop the fear of failure keeping you from saying yes to applying for more significant roles and taking on new clients?

Are you prepared to figure out what you need to take a seat at the table and stop waiting to be seen as worthy?

You are ready in 2020 to stop standing on the sidelines and claim your seat as a female leader in your job or business. This interactive workshop will look at the skills women need to hone their leadership skills, understanding what she needs to maximise the opportunities in front of her to propel her forward and stop playing small.

Then this round table event is for you, for the woman, who is looking to get on the first rung of the leadership ladder and are unsure where to start.

This workshop is for the woman who wants to develop the skills to take the lead and make an impact in her role, and beyond. During the session, we will cover

•Crafting our memorable leadership presence

•Stop waiting on others approvals

•How to maximise your opportunities

•How to failing forward with grace

•Moving beyond equality to equity
