Ear Irrigation Foundation Training:

Aims:

This Ear Irrigation training is aimed at registered and unregistered staff members and carers providing ear care.

The course will teach basic ear care and how to irrigate the ear confidently and safely.

Ear Irrigation Training Course Summary:

  • How to examine the ear
  • Common ear problems & foreign bodies
  • Complications
  • Risk assessing
  • Infection control
  • Documentation and record-keeping
  • Ear irrigation (syringing)
  • Practical session

Duration

This course lasts approximately 4-6 hours.

Certification

Delegates will be issued with certificates of attendance valid for a period of 1 year.

  • Spaces are only for NHS employees working in member practices within Surrey Heartlands, your place will be cancelled if you are not.
  • Charges will apply if the person attending does not work in Surrey Heartlands ICB.
  • Multiple bookings made under the same details may be subject to cancellation.
  • Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours’ prior to the course date.
  • Non-attendance or failure to cancel may result in a charge of up to £96 (this may be higher for certain courses). Failure to cancel and non-attendance also means that those on the waiting list are unable to be offered this place.
