Explore the fascinating eastern edge of the University’s Whiteknights campus on this guided walk through the Earley Gate area. Beginning at the main entrance, the route winds through the campus buildings to the scenic Friends Bridge overlooking the lake, before leading into the tranquil beauty of the Wilderness and towards the Harris Garden entrance. Along the way, we’ll pause at the site of Wilderness House—now lost to time—and uncover its story. The walk concludes at The Citadel, a remarkable 1950s purpose-built war room once designed as a regional government outpost during the Cold War.
