Early Career African Researchers Conference   (Series C; Business Studies and Social Sciences)

Early Career African Researchers Conference   (Series C; Business Studies and Social Sciences)   is one of   PRID’s   event mainly targeted at early career   researchers   and   students who   have indicative concluded, on-going   or   future presentations   about their research findings   to present. Priorities   will be   given to papers   that have   findings     that have   relevance   to Africa     or   any country in Africa.   Presentations     from any Business   and Social Science    based   disciplines are   welcomed.   This   is   part   of   a   three   part     series   that     are planned   to be repeated     each year. Other   related       events in the   general   series,   ‘Early Career African Researchers Conference’ are:

‘Early Career African Researchers Conference (Series A; Science & Technology)’

‘Early Career African Researchers Conference (Series B; Arts and Humanities)’    

Presentations     by   each   standard   speaker   will     last for   15 minutes; presentations   and   discussions (question and   answer).

As   well as standard     speakers, there   will also be opportunities   for   three Distinguished     Early   Career   Researchers   to   make     presentations   for   25   minutes   each as     ‘PRID     Distinguished     Early     Career     Researchers   of the   year’ (Business Studies and Social Sciences). To   register   as one of PRID’s   Distinguished   Early Career   Researcher,   paper presenters   must   have one of the   following   requirements  

1. Fresh (0-3 years after graduation)     PhD, MPhil, or MSc. With   at least   two published papers   in a reputable   journal, and   two   conference papers (3   poster papers   will     be acceptable in lieu of   conference papers). At   least   one   published   paper   and   one   conference   paper   (or 2 poster papers)   must     be   from   research     carried out   as part   of   the     postgraduate   programme.   Current   postgraduate   students   (yet to graduate)   that   meet   the   requirements   are free to   register   under   this   category.     Participants   that   participated   at   any events     organised   previously by PRID   stands     a   better   chance   of   being     selected.      

OR

2. Fresh     MSc   or MPhil     that   graduated   with   a   distinction   or   its   equivalent (for MPhil that may not be graded similarly)   in   any     programme   relevant   to the   event.   Participants   that   participated   at   any events     organised   previously by PRID   stands     a   better   chance   of   being     selected.        

OR

3. Fresh     Bachelors     holders     that   graduated   with     a   first   class     degree.   Participants   that   participated   at   any events     organised   previously by PRID   stands     a   better   chance   of   being     selected.

OR

4. Anyone that   previously participated   at any   of   our previous   events   and presented at   least   2   papers.                    

Note that   irrespective   of the    category under which   prospective     PRID     Distinguished     Early     Career     Researchers   of the   year are   registering,   presentations     they     will   make     at   our events   has   to be     from their     concluded or on-going research.

Participants   at the   event   will   score   each   of   the     three   Distinguished     Early   Career     African Researchers (Business Studies and Social Sciences)  for their presentations;   presenters   will then be     ranked   as   1st, 2nd   and 3rd   based on the   total     points   earned.

Awards   of prizes   and certificates     to the   1st, 2nd       and   3rd   place     Distinguished     Early     Career   African   Researchers   of the   year (Business Studies and Social Sciences).  In addition to   awarding   recipients with certificates,   cash (cheques)     or     and/or research resource   such as   text books will   also be   won by deserving recipient   depending on whether they ranked 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

PRID     Distinguished     Early     Career     Researchers   of the   year   are   free   to prepare   up to 20 pages.   Check   our website   pridglobal.com     for   guidance   and   further information about   how to prepare   word   documents   for   presentations   at   our events.   This   will then be forwarded to   a competent   resource reviewer     for   review     purposes.    

Participants, whose presentations in word format are accepted, will then be   required   to   prepare   power point presentations, which should range   between     5-16 slides. PRID     Distinguished     Early     Career     Researchers   of the   year   are free to prepare   up to 20 power point slides.   They   are expected to send   their   presentations   to us at   pridiorg@gmail.com.   Check   our website   pridglobal.com     for   guidance   and   further information about   how to prepare   power point   documents   for   presentations   at   our events.
