The Lloyd's Register Safety Accelerator and Plug and Play invite you to join us for our Virtual Pitch Session

Early Gas Leak Detection Innovation Challenge, set in collaboration with Shell

  • Tuesday 26th March at 2pm-3pm BST

  • Hour long session, including 3 x 15 min startup pitches, as well as live voting and exclusive Q and As

Hosted online, our Virtual Pitch Session will introduce you to some of the most promising Safetytech startups, with ground-breaking solutions to solve this challenge set in conjunction with Shell, one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world.

Shell seeks innovative methods to detect minor gas leaks onboard an LNG (liquid natural gas) tanker, using sensor technologies or other approaches. The proposed detection solution should be safer and cost effective and should be able to detect leaks below the level a human can detect. You can read more about the challenge here.

During the session, up to three specially selected startup finalists of the Safety Accelerator programme will pitch their solutions to this Challenge to a panel of expert judges, investors and key Safetytech stakeholders. Successful startups will not only benefit from pilot funding, but also the opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading corporate challenge partners, to accelerate the development of their technologies and open up new markets.

You can review all the Challenges and meet our corporate Challenge Partners for this round here.

The Safety Accelerator is run in partnership with Plug and Play, the largest global innovation platform and most active venture capital fund in Silicon Valley. Our aim is to make the world a safer place, by encouraging the growth of the safetytech industry and accelerating the adoption of digital technology for safety.
