Please be aware that this course runs across five sessions. Dates are listed below.

Programme aims:

During the course, participants will engage deeply with early language pedagogy, securing their understanding of the stages of ‘typical’ language development and concentrating on the expected milestones that occur during primary years (ages 4 to 11). Practical classroom skills and techniques for quality first teaching in YR and KS1 will be shared, including ways to identify and support those children who may not be developing language skills as expected.

Aimed at: SENDCOs, Senior Leaders, EYFS and KS1 Leads. Maximum two places per school/setting. All delegates are expected to attend all five sessions and complete gap tasks.

Frequently asked questions

Will I be expected to complete gap tasks?

Yes, there will be work to complete in between each session. The course leader will be able to guide you through each gap task. The tasks are designed so you get the most out of the course and can sustain best practice throughout the year.

Do I need to attend all the sessions?

Yes. The course is designed to support and develop your teaching of early language throughout the whole year. Please do let us know however if you are unable to attend one of the sessions so we can inform the venue of our numbers.
