Early Masterworks Life Drawing} A Poem of Point Line Plane

By EarlyMasterworks.com

Overview

We do not instruct; instead, we invite participants to share. We believe that art connects people, and interactions improve creativity!

At this life drawing session, we will revisit the profound power of basic elements like points, lines and planes. When brought together, variation in qualities of these elements and crowds of them can have immense potential for expression, form complex visual poems, and create powerful momentum, from stillness to the dynamic energy of destruction.

These foundational concepts are not new; they have been the bedrock of many influential art and design movements, such as Russian constructivism, De Stijl, the Bauhaus School, and Minimalism.

From an honest naked body of skin, flesh, bones and hair, to extreme abstraction, to the reconstruction of great intricacy and momentum. I can't wait to discover new creative languages with you all.

Beginners are welcome. Creative prompts will be provided; you can either follow us to explore new challenges or continue with your usual life drawing. The whole session will consist of three parts:

  • Part 1: Elemental Exploration. We will use a series of prompts to explore the inherent power of dots, lines, and planes in capturing the human form. Our focus will be on how these basics can express, organize, and create both complexity and transparency in your work.
  • Part 2: A Poem of Organisation. In this stage, you will use your explorations to create a resolved composition, a "poem" that speaks to the thoughtful organization of these fundamental elements.
  • Part 3: From 2D to 4D.(Optional and Details will be shared with participants after the event) Looking ahead, we will explore the potential of transforming your 2D artwork into a four-dimensional experience. Using your preferred software such as Rhino, Grasshopper, or various AI tools, we can translate our drawings into 3D printed objects, adding the dimension of time and interaction. This final stage presents a portfolio-building challenge, with the aspirational goal of submitting to prestigious showcases like the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition on your own expense.
