Event Information
About this event
Maths is a key part of the curriculum and an important life skill. However, it doesn’t come easy for all children.
This workshop is aimed at those with children working between Pre-key stage standard and the earliest stages of the national curriculum, e.g simple calculations, 2D and 3D shape recognition, basic mathematics language related to time, measurement and money.
During this session you will learn:
What an early mathematics curriculum looks like
What skills your child needs before they are ready to understand numbers and Mathematical concepts.
How to teach early Maths skills in fun and meaningful way.
How to present learning opportunities to ensure engagement and success.
How to generalise mathematical skills into everyday life.
This session will be delivered by Tasha Lowrie.
Tasha is a specialist teacher with over 15 years experience in both special and mainstream schools. In 2015 she left the classroom to set up DreamBox Education.
At the heart of DreamBox is the belief that everyone has a right to achieve their full potential and to experience life in all it's fullness, no matter what!
And that the key to unlocking the hidden potential and ability of individuals with additional needs lies in empowering those closest to them; parents, carers, teachers and support workers.
