Event description
The Workshop will be a mix of seminar, case study and experiential work.

About this event

This is an online course only

I was once asked: “How you can help with early trauma when by its very nature it is inaccessible to the client?”

This is a great question and holds true for most trauma and in particular early trauma.

I was also asked: “Is EMDR the only way to treat trauma and early trauma?”

Another great question.

This workshop hopes to address these questions.

Part 1:

• We will be looking at how we define early trauma.

• We will explore how to know that early trauma is being presented.

• We will be looking in depth at the intricate defenses these clients present.

• We will learn how to approach the work from a relational point of view.

• We will focus on the unconscious life of this work.

Part 2:

• Recap Part 1 using case study material. Redefine trauma, early trauma and PTS and PTSD. Also name DID.

• Look at what is Psychodynamic: Transference

Countertransference

Projective Identification

Attachment Styles

Dreams.

• The central elements are the relationship and the unconscious and it is in these 2 places that work and healing can occur.
