Introduction

Through these bespoke CPD sessions, you and your setting/school can stay connected with the national agenda and be fully briefed on all the latest developments in early years and beyond. Delegates will have the opportunity to engage with colleagues from other schools and settings, to share and access advice and support from the Early Excellence team.

The day will be split into two parts:

AM Session (09:30 - 12:00) National Update Session – for School Leaders, EYFS Leads and KS1 Leads

This session will be an update on national policies and priorities impacting on the EYFS and KS1 , including DfE, Ofsted and related non-statutory guidance.

PM Session (13:00 - 15:30) EYFS Leaders Session

Drawing on the latest research relating to child development and its relationship to the requirements revised EYFS, and connection with non-statutory guidance – this session will support EYFS leaders with their strategic planning and development of their teams quality of practice. Participants will have the opportunity to explore a range of issue with colleagues; including strategies they have used with regard to curriculum design and approaches to sharing and evidencing learning.

About the Trainer

Phil Armstrong is Early Excellence's Head of Regional Development for the South of England as well as leading on their work with British International Schools. He is a member of the Strategic Leadership Team who shape the work of EEX. Previously Phil has worked for over 20yrs across the early years and primary sector, including teacher, leader and headship positions. Phil was also the head of an integrated early years centre. With a passion for collaborative practice and professional development; Phil has worked in partnership with early years settings, schools, teaching schools and local authorities to develop and deliver personalised programmes to meet their needs.

Non-chargeable Courses (Sessions that are part of the ‘no additional charge’ elements of the SWIFT membership)

  • If the place you are cancelling is for a ‘no additional charge’ event under the SWIFT Offer to Schools, you may withdraw, without penalty, provided a minimum notice of 24 hours before the start time of the event is given.
  • If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, for each date of a course for which there is no additional charge, then the following charges will apply per applicant: £25.00

Should a training course recruit insufficient numbers to make it viable, we reserve the right to cancel the course, without penalty, giving a minimum notice of 24 hours.
