Early Years: why they matter and what we can do

More and more research is identifying the profound benefits of children enjoying strong early years support, and the positive effects this can have on the rest of their lives. Investing in children’s early years not only fosters a brighter future for our children, but also strengthens our local economy by creating a more equitable workforce.

This summit will bring together leading academics, national experts, early years practitioners, and employers who recognise the importance of the issue, to share insights and evidence-based strategies that can empower your organisation to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young children and their families.

You’ll hear from a wide range of speakers, including a representative from the Royal Foundation, as well as Phil Ponsonby, Group CEO of The Midcounties Co-operative. The Co-operative are one of eight businesses who form the Royal Foundation’s Business Taskforce for Early Childhood, which aims to galvanise business action to create a fairer society through investment in early childhood.

This summit is for practitioners and researchers who work in early years provision or similar fields, and business and community groups in Oxfordshire who want to support a thriving workforce in the county.

This event is organised by Oxfordshire Inclusive Economy Partnership (OIEP) in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council, the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (BOBICB), and the University of Oxford.
