An evening of ideas and expression that invites perspective.
We move from the deep time of polar ice, to the living patterns of the ocean, and finally outward to the scale of the universe. Alongside, a new work of dance created in dialogue with our setting.
About this event:
On Friday, October 17 at Fässbergs kyrka in Mölndal, TEDxGöteborg invites you to gather beneath Luke Jerram’s GAIA Globe, a monumental 7-meter replica of Earth, suspended above the altar, our stage, and slowly revolving. Against this extraordinary backdrop, speakers and performers will guide us through science, art, and reflection:
- A photographer and science communicator reveals how polar ice holds the history of our planet, and what it tells us about the future.
- A mathematician makes visible the hidden forces that move the oceans and sustain life along the coasts.
- An astronomy perspective expands the horizon and restores our sense of scale.
- Dance artists from GöteborgsOperans Danskompani premiere a performance created in direct conversation with our event.
This TEDxGöteborg Salon will offer you inspiration and perspective to carry into everyday life.
