Join us for a 20-minute panel featuring some of the visionary female artists behind Flow, ahead of their performance in Living Worlds. In this conversation we’ll explore how water—whether in drought-scarred rivers, ocean swells, or rising seas—is being given voice through music, hip-hop, spoken word and archival sound.

Flow is a bold new initiative by EarthSonic that brings to life the diverse stories of water through music. From historic droughts in Brazil to future floods in the UK, the project delves into three related themes: drought, floods and rising sea-levels, drawing on real-life water narratives, scientific insight and field recordings from EarthSonic’s Sound Archive.

Through six new pieces of music by leading female artists, and the use of water-sounds collected in collaboration with archives and indigenous communities, Flow offers an immersive musical journey and a climate storytelling experience. EarthSonic

In this panel we’ll discuss the creative process: how artists turn environmental data, water-sound archives, and personal stories into music; how place and culture influence sound; and how this work can move audiences to think differently about our changing planet. Whether you’re a music fan, climate storyteller or just curious, you’ll leave inspired to hear water in a whole new way.
