Earthwalk/Forest Bathing - Nurture yourself in our Natural World
Event Information
About this Event
Through my work in the education sector and my studies in yoga and meditation, I have found myself drawn to those aspects that recognise the benefits of a strong engagement with OUR natural world. We often speak of THE natural world as if we are somehow separate from it yet research is showing us time and time again that the more we can immerse ourselves within it, the better our mental and physical health becomes.
I am a qualified yoga teacher and a L3 Forest School Leader and am certificated for Earthwalks Leadership. I have informally studied Forest Bathing and can see the clear links between the practices that take place within that and the meditative explorations of our understanding of ourselves, within the woodlands, that make up my version of Forest Bathing/Earthwalks that I am offering.
There are a variety of experiences that I draw on within each immersion. These usually include at least one type of meditation, maybe a walking meditation or a listening exercise, or something else. There will probably be an invitation to look at the world differently, maybe from a literally different viewpoint, or maybe with a limited number of senses. At some point I generally like to build it a bit of foraging for something to make tea with, as we always finish our time in the woods with a cup of tea.
