Event description
Dropped a stitch? Worked a purl instead of a knit stitch? Created an extra stitch somewhere? Don't panic! Learn how to fix your knitting.

About this event

What to do when Knitting Goes Wrong!

As a beginner knitter it can be very frustrating when stitches are accidentally dropped, or a new one suddenly appears on the needles. In this class we will look at some of the common problems that can occur when learning to knit, how to spot them and how to easily fix them and get you back on track.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • How stockinette stitch works and how to quickly identify any errors
  • How to pick up a dropped stitch
  • How to deal with any unintended extra stitches
  • How to change a purl to a knit stitch without ripping back, even if it occurs a few rows down
  • Ripping back and tinking
  • How to use a lifeline

This class is suitable for beginner knitters and the class is kept small to allow for focused tutorial and questions along the way.

So join me for this class and become the master of your stitches!

Here's what previous attendees had to say about this class:

"My second of Jem's classes and it was just as informative and easy to follow as the first. I especially enjoyed the practical aspect of making the swatch and making and fixing mistakes"

"There's nothing like having someone actually show you how to do something and being able to ask questions - you can't get that from you tube"
