About this event
Join us for the launch of the East and Southeast Asia Green Central Banking Scorecard.
Hosted by Positive Money and Green Central Banking, we will be joined by expert speakers including Dr Ma Jun to discuss the progress of green central banking in the ASEAN+3 countries.
Since 2021, Positive Money has gained international recognition for the Green Central Banking Scorecard, which analyses and ranks the progress of G20 central banks and financial supervisors towards aligning their policies with addressing climate and ecological crisis.
In September, Positive Money will publish its first East and Southeast Asia Green Central Banking Scorecard, which applies our analysis of green monetary and financial regulation policies to the ASEAN Plus Three grouping of countries. The first report of its kind dedicated to this economic bloc, the Scorecard provides a benchmark to help drive policy development in a region with huge climate investment needs, that is central to the global green transition.
The online launch event will take place at 9am-10.30am BST (UK) on Wednesday 10th September / 4pm-5.30pm Kuala Lumpur / 5pm-6.30pm Tokyo. We are delighted to have a brilliant panel of expert speakers on green central banking in the ASEAN+3 including:
- Chair: Janice Lim is a Correspondent at The Business Times covering environmental, social and governance issues.
- Dr Ma Jun - President of the Institute of Finance and Sustainability, and former Chief Economist at the People’s Bank of China (PBOC)’s Research Bureau
- Aziz Durrani - Technical Assistance lead at the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO)
- Siti Kholifatul Rizkiah - WWF Malaysia, lead on the Sustainable Financial Regulations and Central Bank Activities (SUSREG) tracker
- Laura Canas da Costa - Global Policy Co-Lead, UNEP Finance Initiative
- Kurniawan Agung - Director at the Green Economic and Financial Group, Financial Inclusion and Green Economy Department, Bank Indonesia.
Joe Herbert, Senior Researcher at Positive Money and lead author of the Scorecard, will also provide a summary of its main findings. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to put questions to the panel.
We hope to see you there!
