Launched in 2023, the East Bank SEEDED residency programme supports artists whose socially engaged practice grows out of east London and its communities. This exhibition brings together work by five artists in residence, hosted by East Bank partners London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London (LCF) and University College London. Each practitioner has worked closely with local communities to share stories and to explore identity, representation and collective experience. The resulting installations reflect the multidisciplinary nature of the programme, spanning film, sculpture, illustration, portraiture, recorded stories and creative contributions from community participants.
Over the course of the public opening, visitors will be able to take part in a series of workshops and performances led by the exhibiting artists.
The artists are:
Cleo Thomas
Mercedes Baptiste Halliday
Naresh Kaushal
Noemi Gunea
Toyin Gbomedo
In Spring 2026, the SEEDED residency programme will open for new applicants, with artists hosted by V&A East and Sadlers Wells East alongside LCF and UCL.
