East End Urban Curiosity Walkshop
Event Information
Description
RECLAIM TIME AND HEADSPACE FOR CREATIVITY
Explore the cityscape around Shoreditch, Brick Lane and Spitalfields on this Urban Curiosity Walkshop. Consider the themes of new vs old, architecture and innovation. Unplug, slow down and notice the world around you.
Words, concepts, pitches, plans, art, mind maps, arguments and ideas - any of these may come.
Best of all? You will get inspired by London's cityscape and leave armed with practical tips to reframe your digital life and cultivate every day curiosity.
During the two-hour walkshop you will:
-
look up, not down into a glowing screen
-
reacquaint yourself with analogue tools: pencil and paper
-
consider your relationship with your smart devices
-
learn how to reconnect with the urban environment through simple prompts and observational exercises
-
boost your creative confidence
-
breathe deeply, make eye contact and discover hidden pockets of the city.
Enjoy time to think, notice and dawdle:
-
notice how the architecture and vibe of the cityscape change in obvious, and imperceptible, ways
-
reflect on your relationship with, and to, the capital
-
spot who lives, studies or works here and think about how their experience of London varies?
-
fire up your senses along Brick Lane
-
consider Spitalfields' past culture and history as we explore the streets, study the buildings and reflect on their contemporary purpose
-
rediscover your creative potential.
