Event description

Description

GP Practices are the cornerstone of the NHS, but primary care is under siege through high demand and enormous expectation from the public. Primary Care Networks are being established to provide resilience and offer new solutions to the challenges GPs face. Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) which are formed from members of the community can be part of this solution.

Would you like support to develop your Patient Participation Group ( PPG) and learn about changes in health and the newly forming Primary Care Networks?

East Lancashire CCG is committed to working with the local community to make our healthcare services the best they can be. The Patient Partners Board of the CCG is keen to create ongoing opportunities for members of existing and new PPGs to connect and communicate with each other and strengthen local PPG and Primary Care Networks.

The workshop on the 4th July will be from 12.30 to 4.30 and will be an opportunity to learn about national changes that will impact on the local delivery of primary care services, to share ideas and learning, and identify any support that may be required to assist practices with developing Patient Participation Groups and ensuring that patient engagement is fundamental to the development of Primary Care Networks (PCNs).

The workshop aims to be of practical help and is not intended to be prescriptive in any way – it is also an opportunity for GP practices to learn from each other and assist them with developing their approach to PCN engagement.

Workshop outline:

1. The NHS England 10 Year Plans and revised GP Contract

2. Overview of the current local landscape in health and the developing Primary Care Networks (PCNs)

3. Sharing good practice and learning from other PPGs

The workshop is open to all GP practice staff and anyone involved in their PPG, or who has an interest in patient engagement and would like to learn about: work taking place within other PPGs; support to develop an existing PPG or share their own ideas and work.
