Easter Friday Thames Bridges & City Estates Walk
Fri 14 April 2017, 11:15 – 14:15 BST
This walk nicely contrasts two of London’s reasons for existence, namely the River Thames and the City of London. Initially the route is concerned with the late 20th century towering architecture of Broadgate with its art sculptures; and the brutal Barbican estate with its highwalks. After reaching the River Thames we continue westwards, to cross four of London’s newest bridges. These include the Millennium Bridge which was originally given the nick name the wobbly bridge, and the Golden Jubilee Bridge.
Although not intended as photographic walk, there are many interesting subjects en route. Particularly quaint are the life sized human sculptures in Broadgate, which should not disappoint.
Most places on the walk have been pre sold to existing clients, but a limited number are available for general release.
This 7km walk ends at Charing Cross Station. The expected duration is 3 hours including the refreshment stop. The contact no for the day is 07768-451425.
