About this event
This interactive workshop will consist of a mixture of presentation and group work. We will consider elements of professionalism, what this means in practice and what skills are linked with this. We will consider PCF requirements, professional standards as well as the BASW code of ethics. We will look at specific aspects of PCF1 requirements and consider tools that can be used to support learners.
This workshop is suitable for all practitioners involved in enabling and assessing social work learners such as experienced Practice Educators in need of a refresher/update on current practice, newly qualified PEs and PEPS trainees, Onsite Supervisors.
Please note that the majority of the content will be relevant for ASYE assessors and Mentors/OSS of apprentices, however, assessment frameworks, such as PCF levels will focus on student levels and not ASYE level. The workshop will not address social work (integrated degree) apprenticeship standards as Kingston University provides separate workshops for apprenticeship mentors and OSS of apprentices.
Learning outcomes:
- Develop a greater understanding of PCF1 -Professionalism and how to evidence this.
- In this context:
- To refresh ability to identify ‘professionalism’, including e-professionalism
- To explore challenges related to time management and tools to support a student with this
- To have refreshed understanding of emotional resilience and tools to support a student
